~ Bronze Cannon, Marked 1720 Manton ~
Probably a Victorian recasting to be used as a Royal Navy yacht club signalling cannon.
It has proof marks to the barrel and the makers name in raised lettering to the side of the barrel, Manton. It is also complete with its tompion.
The end of the stand has the broad arrow in between the War Department letters 'W' & 'D'.
The vent hole is clear.

It measures 90.5cm in length with an overall width (including trunnions) of 25cm. The bore measures 5.25cm.
The cannon weighs 8.5 stone (54kg)
