~ Wilkinson 1821 Pattern Victorian Boer War Officers Sword Of The Royal Artillery ~
The sword comes with its wood and brown leather scabbard.
It appears to be a piece that was passed through the family as the sword bears the Kings Crown even if it was manufactured in the last years of Queen Victoria’s reign.
The blade is decorated with etched with scrolling arabesques on both sides.
One side of the blade is etched with the sword-smiths name ‘Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London’, the British coat of arms under the King’s crown and the Royal Artillery cannon. On the same side can be seen a monogram ‘H.A.C’.
The opposite side bears a different monogram ‘J.M.W.’, the proof star and the ‘Royal Artillery’ wings and lightning battle standard.
The edge of the blade bears the serial number ‘30662’ indicating the manufacturing year as 1891.
The grip is made of metal wired black shagreen.

The blade length is 35 inches (98 cm) and the overall length of the sword is 41 inches (104 cm).
The overall length of the sword in its scabbard is 43 inches (109 cm).
The sword weighs 1.4 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The sword is in very good condition free of damage.
The metal has darkened but remains rust or damage free.
The leather scabbard is rather worn.
