~ 1822 Pattern Light Cavalry Sword and Scabbard – Unissued ~
This is a Victorian era light cavalry sword with an excellent, untouched blade. The sword was not issued into active military service and it was discovered after the clearance of an old house.
There are no marks or stamps on the blade, hilt or scabbard.
The hilt is the standard pattern of the cavalry with a copper wired black shagreen.
The sword comes with its steel scabbard.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade length is 32.5 inches (83 cm) and the overall length of the sword is 38 inches (96.5 cm).
The sword in its scabbard length is 39 ½ inches (100.5 cm).
It weighs 1.22 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The blade is in pristine condition, free of any damage or rust, as can be seen in the pictures.
The other metal components of the sword have some amount of pitting and age darkening but overall remain undamaged.
The grip is excellent.
