1831 Pattern British Army Mameluke Swords
A late Victorian General Officers 1831 Pattern Mameluke Sword with original Brass Scabbard and hanging loops. Some damage to the scabbard as seen in the photo. Etched Blade with Queens Crown visible, the sword was made by Ranken and co in Calcutta. Ivory Grip and ornate brass cross guard. This sword was owned by Michael Lloyd Ferrar OBE, who served in India during 1896 &1897 and later became a high ranking civil servant and British commissioner of the Penal Settlement at Port Blair on Andaman Islands and Nicobar Islands.
