~ A 1845 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword by Hobson & Sons ~
The sword comes with its scabbard and sword knot
The manufacturer's details are stamped on the ricasso 'Hobson & Sons, 1/3/5 Lexington Street, London', on one side and on the other can be seen the proof star.
The blade is numbered 99786 and has a heraldic crest on one side and the British coat of arms on the other.
Both sides are also decorated with etched foliage and Queens Crown.
The brass basket bears the the Victorian cipher and crown.
The grip is made of black shagreen and cooper wire.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade length is 33 inches (84 cm) and the overall length of the sword in its scabbard is 39.5 inches (100.4 cm).
It weighs 1.42 kg.
~ Condition ~
The blade has some amount of rust at the tip and on the ricasso.
The grip's wire has some amount of oxidization on it but remains undamaged.
The scabbard lost part of its chrome finish and developed some rust.
The knot is partially worn.
