~ .44 Caliber Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver ~
The revolver has matching serial numbers of 53233 to all parts dating it to 1862.
The serial number is stamped on the barrel frame, cylinder frame, trigger frame and grip.
The top of the barrel is stamped "Address Col Saml Colt New - York U.S. America.".
On the frame, on the left hand side, beneath the cylinder is stamped 'COLT PATENT'.
On the left hand side of the barrel, near the cylinder, is stamped with 'BB' and on the right side with 'H' (which is stamped also on the cylinder and trigger frame). On the reverse of the barrel, when opening the loading lever, can be seen another 'B' stamped on it.
On the cylinder is stamped:
'PATENT NO. 3233'
'PAT SEPT 10th 1850'
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel has a length of 8 inches (20.3 cm), with the revolver having an overall length of 14 inches (35.5 cm).
The revolver weight is 1.21 kg.
~ Condition ~
The revolver has some minor wear but is in a decent overall condition. There is some shallow pitting giving a silky feel. The top flat engravings are worn. The grips are complete and in good order.
It cocks, releases and indexes very, very smoothly. The loading lever works smoothly too. The nipples are fine.
