~ 19th Century Beaumont Type Percussion Revolver .32 Cal ~
This is a scarce piece, a double action to the Beaumont .32 calibre revolver. It would date to around 1860.
The cylinder has a number of Birmingham proof marks.
The right side of the frame is stamped ‘Patent 1908’ for the patent number and the top of the barrel is stamped ‘LONDON’.
The grips are made of mahogany and fixed in place with a brass screw and a screw nut.
There are no other visible markings.
The loading rod is situated on the left side and attached to the barrel frame with a screw.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel length is 3.5 inches (8.98 cm) and the overall length of the revolver is 8 inches (20.32 cm).
It weighs 500 grams.
~ Condition ~
The revolver is in fair condition for its age.
Due to spring failure the revolving mechanism is loose. The cylinder revolves and the hammer moves when the trigger is pulled though.
The wooden grips remain undamaged and the metal frame has minimum age wear.
