~ A 19th Century Japanese Matchlock Teppo Musket ~
The musket has brass furniture, including the lock plate, with brass floral bolts across the wooden stock.
The octagonal barrel has silver inlay along its entire length with birds and floral patterns. It has front and rear sights. The octagonal barrel has a bell cone muzzle with foresight (Saki Maete).
The stock is of, I believe, a light cherrywood.
The vintage ramrod is a replacement.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel has a length of 42 inches (106.5cm), with the gun having an overall length of 53.5 inches (135cm).
~ Condition ~
The lightly lacquered wood work is in excellent condition with very little wear. The brass work is in good order. The barrel has some areas of pitting but the inlay remains clean. It locks and releases without issue.
~ Postage ~
UK postage is £22 or the musket can be collected from our shop in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
