~ 19th Century Percussion Hunting Shotgun 14 Bore ~
This is a single barrel, British import shotgun, probably Swiss made.
There are a series of proof marks and serial numbers on it. It breaks down into two halves.
The body is stamped underneath the barrel with a foreign proof mark and serial number ‘79366’.
The same number is stamped on the barrel along with the initials ‘J.L.’ and a series of British and foreign proof marks.
It has a chequered walnut stock and blank silver escutcheon plate.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel length is 27.6 inches (70.2 cm) long. The rifle has an overall length of 46 inches (116.8 cm). It weighs 2.2 kg.
~ Condition ~
The shotgun is in average condition. The front sight is missing. And there is a amount of surface rust on the metal parts.
The bore seems undamaged.
The percussion nipple is missing.
The woodwork has some signs of wear but no damage.
It can be cocked and released.
