~ A Brass Tap Lock Double Barrel Pistol By Palmer Of Rochester ~
This is an excellent, fully working, example of a double barrel tap lock pistol.
The main frame is made of brass and the barrels are removable.
The firing mechanism and the tap are made of steel and it is fitted with a safety catch.
The chequered wooden grip is decorated with a silver plated brass cartouche.
One side of the frame is stamped ‘Palmer’ and the other one ‘Rochester’.
The brass frame is stamped underneath with three proof marks, two British and one French.
The wooden grip is serial numbered ‘3614’.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrels length is 1 ½ inches (3.81 cm) and the overall length of the pistol is 7 ½ inches (19 cm).
The pistol weighs 540 grams.
~ Condition ~
The pistol is in excellent condition with minimal ageing.
There is minor oxidisation between the barrels.
The pistol half cocks, cocks and fires with ease.
