~ A Colt 1851 Navy Revolver with London proof marks ~
This is an USA export piece not a 'Made in London' one.
The top of the barrel has the stamp 'Address Col Sam Colt New York U.S. American'. Just above the trigger is stamped 'Colts Patent' & '36 Cal'. The bottom of the butt and trigger are stamped '183488'.
The serial number indicates 1865 as the manufacturing year.
~ Dimensions ~
The pistol has a barrel that measures 7.3 inches (18.25cm) long with an overall length of 13 inches (33cm).
~ Condition ~
The pistol has some general light wear including scratches to the body, tip and barrel but is in an otherwise decent condition. It cocks and dry fires smoothly.

The Colt 1851 Navy or Navy Revolver, is a cap and ball revolver. It was designed by Samuel Colt between 1847 and 1850. It remained in production until 1873, when revolvers using fixed metallic cartridges came into widespread use.
