A Rare early American Naval Dirk, reeded Ivory hilt, complete with silver top cap and matching scabbard, the top of scabbard is engraved with a fouled Anchor. Overall length 10 inches. Tip of scabbard with an old repair. Blade flat on one side. Probably American circa 1790-1820. Good condition. A very similar dirk is illustrated on page 114 of "Boarders Away" by William Gilkerson. Ref 7662.
