    SOLD ### NEW LISTING 6/6/16 ###

A SUPERB WW2 BURMA JUNGLE VETERAN ... A BRITISH ARMY ISSUE MK1V VARIANT LONG HEAVY KUKRI DATED 1943 ON KUKRI, SHEATH, AND FROG WITH ITS ORIGINAL SHEATH AND THICK HIDE LEATHER FROG.
In "been there" condition with some "marks of history" but overall nice original and unusually complete condition.

This must have been in my own collection for about fourty years having swopped it with a fiend for something I had.

This is the rare and unusual MK 4 variant with sunken rivets and double turned over pean on the pomell... which some experts regard as the an unusual Mark in its own right but most regard this design as probably a manufacturers interpretation of the WW2 War Department Specifications. The heavy long blade is about cm long measured in a straight line not on the curve is about 33.5 cm long... is stamped "ATD 43" on the blade. The sheath is also stamped with manufacturer broad arrow and son and "43" and the back of the frog manufacturers details and although faint also very faint "43".

Note the gruesome five notches on the outside section of the kukri sheath... noted these on other WW2 Kukris... no need to explain what these mean !

In "been there" jungle used condition with some "marks of history" ...the blade has the light marks and pitting overall that you usually find om military bladed that have has exposed been exposed to the constant wetness and humidity of the jungles of South East Asia, The stitching on the back of the sheath in the upper section and some on the lower section has rotted through another indicator of jungle use and and some wear to the top of the back of the sheath where the kukri has repeatedly been put in and darwn from the sheath; and three of the rivets are missing from the frog... the blade has been very heavily greased...not shown on the photos but would recommend putting the grease back on the blade when putting blade in / out of the kukri given the sheaths age and usage ....otherwise overall nice original solid and unusually complete condition.
A very nice original and complete of a rare variant of a Mk 4 British Army Issue Burma Jungles Kukri.
