Boxed, 1931- 1939, Accles & Shelvoke Ltd .177 Calibre Side Lever Warrior Air Pistol & Accessories. Sn 8488. - 8488In the 1930's, Accles and Shelvoke Ltd of Birmingham manufactured 'Acvoke' Air Pistols and Slaughterhouse Weapons. Between 1931 and 1939 the company produced their Warrior Air pistol. This is an excellent original .177 calibre example of the Warrior. It measures 8" overall with a 7" rifled barrel. It retains it's original blue finish with some light staining consistent with age. It is side lever loading & has a bead foresight & adjustable rear sight. It's brown chequered vulcanite grips are excellent and undamaged and have Accles and Shelvoke 'Medieval Helmet' roundels. The grip strap is stamped with serial number ' 3213'. The left side of the frame is crisply stamped 'THE WARRIOR ACCLES & SHELVOKE LTD, BIRMINGHAM'. The right ' F.CLARKE'S PATENT No's. BRIT 351268 USA 538057'. The pistol cocks & fires perfectly with a strong spring action. The pistol is contained in it's original Accles and Shelvoke cardboard box, with original instructions pasted to the inside of the lid by the manufacturer. Interestingly Accles and Shelvoke boxes had a Union Jack design on the lid, however when the Company won the coveted Gold Medal award in the 1930's Accles and Shelvoke redesigned the lid cover incorporating the Gold Medal award imagery and had existing stocks of their old boxes recovered with the new design. The lid of this box has the Gold Medal design but wear on the outside edge of the lid has exposed the pre award design showing it to be one of those earlier recovered boxes. The box also contains a cleaning brush with steel wire pull through and cleaning rod. Price for this excellent boxed 1930's Air Pistol with accessories includes UK delivery. Sn 8488.
