The 32 inch blade still retaining much of its original blue and gilt decoration including the royal crown, GR and the British Royal coat-of arms. The gilt brass hilt with a double shell guard, engraved pomell and knuckle-bow. The grip retains all of its original silver wire binding. This sword would have been carried by an infantry officer during the period of the Napoleonic wars Circa 1790-1815. Overall length 39.5 inches. Ref 5938. This sword is priced over a thousand pounds less than it would be if complete with its correct leather scabbard.
