Create my profile now!An Imperial German M1871 bayonet for the 1871 Mauser Rifle by Gebr Weyersberg Solingen, and scabbard (See page 116 of The Bayonet Book by John Watts and Peter White). The bayonet has brass grips, smooth on one side and grooved on the other. The smooth grip has small Imperial inspection stamps. The hilt has a push button release and flat spring which operates smoothly. The crossguard is stamped with Regimental markings '88.L.II.1.15'. The blade is stamped by the manufacturer "Gebr Weyersberg Solingen". The clean single edged polished blade with fuller measures 18 1/2" and is stamped on the back edge near the ricasso with Imperial inspection marks and '75'. The scabbard is leather and has a brass top mount with frog bar and brass chape with tear drop end. The chape is stamped with an Imperial inspection mark. All leather and stitching are intact. The scabbard is fitted with an original black leather frog with belt loop and retaining strap with alloy lug fastener. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 10592
