A matching maker & numbers German K98 Mauser Model 1884/98 Bayonet & Scabbard with dark ribbed bakelite grips for the K98 Rifle. The blade is stamped on the ricasso, "Berg & Co and on the other side "7863". It is crisply Waffenamt 'Wa1255' on the pommel. The back edge of the blade is dated '40' (1940). The metal scabbard is stamped with matching number "7863" on one side and "Berg & Co" with "1940" date on the other. The scabbard has it's black paint finish and is undamaged apart from 1 small dent towards the lower part of one side. the tear drop chape end is undented and Waffenamt.
