British Model 1858 sword bayonets were produced for British 1858 Pattern short rifles. This is a standard 1858 pattern. The bayonets were made by English manufacturer's and the German Solingen trade (see pages 114 & 115 & plate B152 of Skennerton's book British & Commonwealth Bayonets). This is a nice example of the British Sword bayonet, Pattern 1858 with Yataghan type blade. The polished steel blade is in clean undamaged condition. The blade is 22 3/4" long (28 1/2") overall and has a curving tip. The blade is fullered for three quarters of its length. It's leather 2-piece grip is stamped with a chequered pattern. The steel mounted leather scabbard's stitching is intact with just service wear to be expected. Price includes UK delivery. Bayo 176
