This sword is British manufactured during the period 1745-1760 and could easily have been carried during the time of the Peninsular/ Napoleonic wars 1795-1815. This pattern sword is also known to have been used in the United States at the time of the American Revolutionary war. Brass grip and guard and a turned brass pommel. The shell guard with no military markings or makers name. The single edged slightly curved blade approx 25 inches long. Blade with some very minor wear, otherwise in very good condition. Nice period patina to the brass. A very good authentic piece from the U.S. Revolutionary war era, with the added interest of it being manufactured in Great Britain. Overall length approx 30 inches.
