SOLD ### NEW LISTING ### 10/6/16 BRITISH MK 5 GURKHA RIFLES KUKRI DATED 1976,FALKLANDS WAR ERA / JUNGLE A "BEEN THERE" GURKHA VETERAN WITH MARKS OF HISTORY
Rust staining and light pitting to one side of blade with some surface wear marks to sheath. Brass pommell turned over at either end with slight split to metal at either endand some slight play to pommell. Otherwise Kukri overall reasonably nice / nice condition.
Comes complete with its original sheath, and a belt frog and pair chakmak companion knives but would say both the belt frog, and chakmak companion knives are replacements
The Kukri has its original date stamp "79" for 1981. The Mk 5 Kukris were almost always a "Unit Purchase" from Nepal not showing a broad arrow, NATO stock number and so but either an abbreviated makers stamp and date such as "BG 79" or just a date stamp such as "79" as on this kukri...
Nice solid blade about 27.5 cm long measured in a straight line..not on the curve and nice and solid in the hilt with no play despite that this must have been carried on a few campaigns for Queen and country.
