Brunswick Nepalese Muzzel Loader 0.704 Rifles
Brunswick Percussion Lock Rifle .704 cal 2 groove, Nepalese or Indian manufacture, made circa 1840. MAKE ME AN OFFER SOON, OR ITS OFF GUNSTAR!
All parts are original. The barrel is sighted with a bayonet bar on the right. The stock is polished hardwood with brass furniture and brass inletted patch box. It also has its original iron ramrod and sling swivels. Have a look at the photos to see what you get. Definitely NOT one I would try and shoot, but a good display/collection piece at an attractive price.
Note that this is NOT a British made Brunswick but one made in India or Nepal for the Nepalese; (or it would set you back several grand). It has numerous Nepalese issue marks, but no British ones, unlike composites and later fakes which try and chuck in a few British WD marks.
As with the Enfield Snider and Martini-Henry that I also have for sale here, this rifle came from the well-known, well-respected, and much-missed Michael Long of Nottingham.
My preference is for buyer to visually inspect at a mutually agreeable location - and pay on the spot if satisfied. Although based in Yorkshire, I often travel south on the A1, M1 and the M6 so could meet up on or near any of these 3. I occasionally travel on the M72 to Glasgow.
