~ Queen Anne Pocket Flintlock Pistol ~
The fixed cannon barrel pistol has gold inlay to the rear of the barrel.
It is probably of Dutch origin but there are no marks or stamps. It would date to around 1760.
The barrel, ram rod, trigger and lock plate are steel, the rest of the fittings are of brass.
The unnamed lock plate is engraved with foliate patterns.
The stock is of walnut with a fleur de lyse type pattern raised area behind the barrel.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel length is 3.8 inches (9.5 cm) and the overall length of the pistol is 8 inches (20.5 cm).
It weighs 315 grams.
~ Condition ~
The pistol is in fair condition for its age.
The walnut has a few minor chips around the fittings and a segment missing under the ramrod.
The barrel has some pitting.
The pistol still half cocks, cocks and releases but the spring is very weak.
