~ c1840 Double Barreled Percussion Pistol ~
A double barreled, rifled percussion pistol - from around 1840 - with a cross hatched walnut stock, foliate etched box (with matching trigger guard), steel pommel and a blank silver escutcheon plate.
There are proof marks under both barrels and also forward of the trigger guard.
The pistol comes with a later display case with spurious label which includes a period powder flask and lead shot.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrels are approximately 12mm/40 gauge in bore.
The pistol has a length of 8.7 inches (22cm) with the barrels measuring 3.2 inches (8cm) long.
It weighs 1.24 kg.
~ Condition ~
Both actions work smoothly with strong springs as do the dual triggers. The barrels do not twist off.
