~ c1850 French Klingenthal Couiaux & Cie Sword Stick ~
A beautiful Napoleon III era sword stick. The blade is by the most famous French producer Klingenthal. They produced blades for the french army and for the civilian market from 1733 until 1963.
This particular blade is produced by the Couiaux & Cie (brothers), the best-known entrepreneurs of Klingenthal since February 1801. The family remained in charge of the management of the 'Manufacture de Klingenthal' until the firm ceased business in 1962.
This particular blade is stamped on the ricasso with two pairs of imperial(Napoleon III) proof marks.
On one of the four sides of the blade is stamped Coiaux & Cie and on the opposite side with Klingenthal. Also near by the grip on one side is stamped a 'C' and on the opposite side is the French imperial crown.
The blade is forged with two short single fullers and elegantly cut edges.
The scabbard and the grip are made from bamboo. The ferrel of the scabbard is made from brass.

The blade length is 63 cm (24.8 inches) and the overall length of the stick is 92 cm (36.2 inches).
The weight of the sword stick is 380 grams.
~ Condition ~
The bamboo scabbard is in very good condition except for a couple of cracks in the middle.
The blade is excellent.
