~ Circa 1630 German Double Fullered Dagger ~
The blade has two three quarter length fullers to either side. It has original wooden single piece grip with a brass Turks head pommel. The brass cross guard and the pommel have floral embossed decoration.
The grip has the remains of a silver wire binding.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade measures 9 inches (23 cm) in length and the overall length of the dagger is 14.5 inches (37cm).
It weighs 295 grams.
~ Condition ~
The blade has darkened due to its age but remains clean and retains a good shape.
There are minor spots of surface rust
The point of the blade is sharp and slightly bent as shown in one of the photographs.
The edges are free from nicks.
The hilt is in excellent condition for the age.
The grip has minor cracks in it but is stable.
The wire is unravelled.
The floral patterns on the cross-guard are very clear for the age although the ones on the pommel are slightly more worn but still clear.
