~ A Circa 1780 Manton Officers Flintlock Pistol ~
The pistol has brass furniture with an acorn finial to the trigger guard. The proof marked barrel has a brass fore sight and etched detailing behind of a stand of arms. The 'Manton' stamped lockplate has scales to the rear and a star burst behind the hammer. It is fitted with an under slung ramrod.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel has a length of 9 inches (22.75cm), with the pistol having an overall length of 15 inches (38cm).
~ Condition ~
The barrel is in very good order with only very minor, shallow pitting in limited areas.
The stock is in good condition has a couple of cracks on the left and a chamfered repair near the muzzle. There are a couple of small chips behind the lock plate and around the pommel.
The pistol half cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.
All parts are original to the pistol.
