~ A Circa 1800 Bronze Barreled Flintlock to Percussion Conversion Musketoon ~
The short bronze barrel has a slightly flared muzzle, not quite flared enough to be called a blunderbuss. There are no proof marks on it.
The steel lock plate is plain and unnamed, the hammer has a stipple motif.
The stock is of a pleasant honey coloured hardwood, one side of the butt is stamped 76 and the other 152.
It is fitted with two steel suspension loops, two brass bands, a steel ramrod and a brass trigger guard.
~ Condition ~
The metal parts are generally polished.
The stock has numerous cracks including a very large one along the middle of the right hand side, this has been filled in with wax.
It half cocks, cocks and releases with a decent spring, the trigger has quite a lot of lose play.

The musketoon has a 19.5 inch (49.5cm) barrel with an overall length of 35 inches (89cm). The internal bore is approximately 3/4 of an inch.
It weighs 3.7 Kg.
