~ Circa 1840 Silver Framed Six Shot Double Action Pepperbox Revolver & Holster ~
The revolver’s silver frame is decorated with engraved foliate detailing.
The chequered walnut grips are attached to the silver frame with a central steel screw and rivet.
The steel hammer is also decorated with foliate engravings as is the trigger guard.
Each barrel is stamped with a British proof mark.
The holster is made of brown leather.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrels length is 3 inches (7.5 cm) and the overall length of the revolver is 7.5 inches (19 cm).
In its holster the length of it is 8 inches (20.3 cm).
It weighs 780 grams.
~ Condition ~
The revolver is in fair condition for its age.
The mechanism needs attention as it does not chamber and rotate with the correct action. It does cock and release with a bit of 'wiggling'.
The barrels have some minor surface rust inside. The nipples are in good order.
The grips need tightening up.
The brown leather holster is in good condition with minor wear.
