These were worn around the neck by footmen and coach drivers for the Royalty and the Aristocracy of Great Britain in centuries gone by. The two piece silver badge is a Ducal crown or coronet over a stag. The leather is stitched along the edges to re-inforce the body of the gorget. Good overall condition, the leather is still solid, showing some signs of genuine wear and use. Overall size is approx 6 x 6 inches. This is a very rare collectors item for the coaching or stage-coach enthusiast. Ref 9293..
