UNUSUAL, 1832 Dated Continental .700” Bore Percussion 3 Band Military Rifle Converted from Flintlock With 3 Groove Rifling. Sn 13310 - 13310

This is a Continental percussion converted from flintlock 3 band rifle. This unusual example is in good condition. It has all original wood which has the bumps and bruises to be expected with age & service use. It has steel fittings including, heavy military hammer, butt plate with extended tang, Continental form fore end block and trigger guard with ribbed extended tang. The rifle also has its original steel ramrod, blade fore sight & groove rear sight which forms part of what was at one time an adjustable sight. The barrel has a clean bore with 3 groove rifling. The 41” barrel has inspection marks and is dated 1832 (illustrated in image 2). Total length of the weapon is 56”. Stock is impressed with a Lion in repose roundel which contains French text and crescent moon and star symbols and a separate roundel with crown and monogram (illustrated in image 2). The action works perfectly. This is an antique percussion rifle and no licence is required to own it in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display. The price for this weapon worthy of further research includes UK delivery. Sn 13310
