A 538This is a superb, original, 1871 Birmingham Made, East India Company Government Model .65" Bore, Percussion Pistol. It is 13 inches long with a 8 inch barrel which is .65" bore. The woodwork is a nice deep brown with brass furniture. It has it's original captive ram rod and the brass butt plate is fitted with lanyard ring. The left side of the wood is crisply stamped with the East India Government 'E.I.G.' roundel and 'Cooper & Goodman' ( Listed in British Gunmakers Vol 1 By Brown page 151 between 1876-80 at 23 Abchurch lane, London). The lock is crisply marked Crown and E.I.G. mark together with 'Birmingham 1871'. The barrel has proof/ inspection marks. All metal work and woodwork is in excellent condition with only minor bumps that are to be expected of a weapon of this age. The lock functions as it should. As an antique percussion pistol no licence is required to possess this item in the UK as part of a display or collection. Price includes UK delivery. A 538.
