Imperial German WW1 Fighting/Trench Knife By Ern Wald Rheinl, Rasiermesser Fabrik & Scabbard With Integral Frog/ Belt Loop. Sn 11049 - 11049

An original Imperial German WW1 Fighting/Trench Knife, scabbard and frog. The knife has a single edge 6" blade with medial ridge and has an overall length of 11". The blade is fitted with original leather hilt washer. The grips are wooden with typical nine diagonally carved grooves. The grips are secured with three rivets evenly spaced. There is a manufacturer stamp on the ricasso "ERN Wald, Rheinl" on one side and very faint "Rasiermesser Fabrik" on the reverse. It is complete with its original metal scabbard painted black which has a leather belt loop riveted to it. The belt loop has a single retaining strap with press stud fastener (see Fred Steven’s Book Fighting Knives Page 44 Plate 196). The price includes UK delivery. Sn 11049
