~ Excellent 1735-40 Scottish Basket Hilted Sword ~
A 100% untouched example.
The ribbon and hearts steel basket preserves a part of its brown leather lining and spiral steel reinforced wooden grip held inside.
The blade has the very rare version of the name "Andrea Farara" and Ancient Roman figure heads stamped on both sides of the blade. "Farara" is associated often with Rob Roy's swords.
One side of the blade is stamped Andrea in groups of two letters interrupted by the Roman heads and the other is stamped Farara, arranged in the same manner.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade has a length of 30.5 inches (77.5 cm), with the sword having an overall length of 37 inches (94 cm). It weighs 1.7 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The blade is in excellent untouched condition. Free of rust, pitting or any damage with a rich dark patina.
The basket remains untouched as well.
The wooden grip has aged and shrunk, because of this the metal wiring is a little loose.
~ Postage ~
UK postage is £20 or the sword can be collected from our shop in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
