~ German WW1 Imperial Naval Officers Dagger ~
The pommel is the eagle and the half-open wings are deeply recessed at the bird's body.
It is holding a wreath with anchor inside. The crossguard has the fouled anchor in both of the centre blocks. The button ends have protruding nipples at the tips.
The wood-based grip is carved and coated with celluloid. The celluloid is coloured white with wire.
The scabbard is the typical Alcoso type with lightning bolt decoration with bands decorated with oak leaves that carry the carrying rings. The throat is retained by two brass dome head side screws.
The blade is decorated with a beautiful naval decoration, featuring the fouled anchor & floral leaves.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade has a length of 10 inches (25.4 cm), the dagger has a full length of 15 inches (38.1 cm), 16.5 inches (41.8cm) with the scabbard attached. It weighs 348 g.
~ Condition ~
The blade is in excellent condition. Some scratches to the grip, some light oxidation to the scabbard.
