This is an early English, Lane Brothers 'Musketeer' Air Rifle was made between 1903 & 1910. ( see page 145 of Hiller's book Collector's Guide To Air Rifles). It has all original metal & woodwork with nice patina throughout and fires with a strong spring action. The trigger guard is stamped 'Patent No 9644' which was issued to The Greener family re their trigger mechanism design. The barrel is crisply stamped 'Musketeer' & the top of the barrel block 'Lane Bros London, British Made'. The inside of the barrel block is stamped '00' and the trigger block '100'. It has blade foresight & adjustable rear sight. The wood stock is fitted with an excellent retailer's plate beautifully marked 'Gun Makers J. Blanch & Son 29 Gracechurch Street, London'.
