World Champion Shooter, Abbey Burton, What's Ahead in 2015.
Life for me as a whole is great, I got married in September 2014 to Olympian Edward Ling and as well as shooting, I enjoy teaching fitness classes, zumba and bodystep in the evenings and run my own shooting school.
I love my job as an instructor and helping customers get out of those bad shooting habits or helping them discover their own talent and abilities within shooting sports. It's great to help people discover their love for shooting in the first place.
I run regular clay lessons for all age groups male or female. Throughout the course of a year I run young shots days, ladies days, corporate events & kids parties. I have sponsors that have supported me during my career are Alan Paine country clothing, Norman Grundon recycling company, Perazzi gun company & Fiocchi ammunition.
My year so far has been a roller coaster where my personal shooting is concerned. Training has been going really well however my competitions could have been better. A full on exhausting start to the year training in the cold weather and rain proved preparing for these international events challenging. After my first two world cups I felt a change needed to be made from my German made metal stock to a wooden stock made by the Perazzi factory. Soon back on the straight and narrow and back to building back up my confidence and re focusing on my training to see what I can achieve from that point onwards.
I won the english open ladies title 16th may this qualified for the European championships to be held end of July and I'm representing Team GB at the first European games to be held in BAKU (Azerbaijan) 12th June which only the top 18 ladies in the European rankings qualified for. I have alot to look forward to.
Book onto a shooting lesson with Abbey as an instructor here, and stay tuned to hear about her competition journey this year.
