~ An Old Specification Deactivated Belgian FN General-Purpose Machine Gun GPMG ~
The FN MAG (Mitrailleuse d'Appui Général) is a 7.62 mm machine gun, designed in the early 1950s at Fabrique Nationale (FN) by Ernest Vervier. It has been used by more than 80 countries, and it has been made under licence in countries such as Argentina, Egypt, India, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
The body is stamped on the left hand side "Fabrique Nationale Herstal Belgique".
Also on the body, just beneath the back end of the barrel, the serial number "FN47805" is stamped.
The barrel is stamped with "7.62 MM L1A2", serial "FB614" and on the top can be seen a series of proof marks.
The lid of the feeding mechanism is stamped "M.032, R.258".
The trigger guard is stamped "C20295 D" and with a broad arrow so its a UK issued piece.
It comes with its deactivation certificate dated 20/04/95.

The barrel is 22.5 inches (57.3 cm) and the overall length is 48 inches (122 cm).
It weighs 11.4 kg.
~ Condition ~
The machine gun is excellent except for the expected signs of wear.
The butt is a refurbished piece.
It cocks and dry fires smoothly.
