Percussion single shot bar hammer "Bootleg" pistol of small size. Ref 8098 .31 Muzzleloader
Largest selection of genuine antique weapons for sale in UK, visit our website andrewbottomley.com Ref no 8098. A rare and extremely interesting percussion single shot bar hammer "Bootleg" pistol of small size, circa 1840-1850. Dating from the time of the Californian Gold Rush. Two piece bag shaped grips made from Mother-Of-Pearl held on with a single screw. The barrel engraved on top with "Gordon Sunderland". We believe this could be either an English retailer's name, as it has at some time been imported into the UK with the British proof mark under the barrel, or possibly the original owner's name ? Steel trigger guard. Used condition, a nice honest piece dating from the time of the American Wild West and exactly the type of tiny single shot pocket pistol carried and easily hidden by travellers & gamblers of the time. Approx cal .31. Overall length 6 inches. Ref 8098. This is an antique weapon and is sold as a collectors item only. No Licence is required in the United Kingdom. If you wish to purchase this item please visit our website andrewbottomley.com where you can pay by credit/debit card or bank transfer at no extra charge.
