RECENT FIND. A rare American Civil war era, front loading revolver, made by the "PLANT MAN. COY". for. " MERWIN AND BRAY", NEW YORK. shown on top flat of octag. barrel. in good working order. most of nickel plate has gone showing the brass body beneath it. powerful main spring with two sharp clicks, polished steel barrel. cylinder spins and locks up fine. rifleing can be seen. cylinder arm spring seems a ;little weak. but still works fine. pos. cal. is 4.2 mm. or .45. made around 1860. ser . number is. 7273. their were not a lot made as the coy. ceased production very early, due to production problem,s. the ejector rod is pos. an old replacement, as this one has a brass push ball instead of a steel one. but as there were so many variations it hard to tell has a 4.5/8"octg. barrel, and is 10.1/2" overall. no rust or damage apart from a small chip to one of the grip shells. look,s completely all original and untouched, no scuffs or screw driver burrs. a nice rare piece of "AMERICAN HISTORY" please pay by cheque, pay pa. will cost extra due to their fees, sorry about the blurred pics.
