PRUSSIAN MODEL 1882 CURASSIER SWORD WITH A VERY INTERESTING HISTORY Swords
### ON HOLD FOR CUSTOMER" PRUSSIAN MODEL CURASSIER SWORD WITH A VERY INTERESTING HISTORY & ORIGINAL STEEL SCABBARD.
Overall nice original condition.
This sword has the makers stamp and the Prussian Regimental Markings on the forte.
The fascinating thing about this sword is the blade has been broken in half and then repaired...most likely explanation is the rigours of combat! A real mark of history,
Exactly this pattern of sword is illustrated on page 117 of "World Swords 1400 - 1945" by Harvey Withers. as he comments "..very similar in design to the French Heavy Curassier Sword".
Blade length measured in a straight line (not on the curve) about 91.5 cm about 3 feet long.
Slight salt and pepper pitting overall to the scabbard.
Otherwise overall clean blade which is still well oiled as can be seen in the photos. Nice undamaged hilt and overall nice original condition.
