A 12 bore Soviet O/U shot gun , made at the famous Molot factory in Vyatskie Polyany , Russia for Comrade Krushchev after the Berlin Crisis of 1961. The gun is marked on the barrel lumps with the instantly recognsible “Hammer in Shield” mark of the Molot factory and the date of 1961. A letter from the factory is included.
The three piece forend as a silver plaque with wreath and star , inlet with the three Russian Cyrilic intials of Krushchev’s full name.
The gun has 29 1/2" Barrels with a solid game rib, choked Full and Half and is a boxlock non-ejector of very robust construction. The Stock is 14 ¾” in length .

Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev led the Soviet Union during the Cold War. from 1953 to 1964 and was particularly fond of the Molot Factory and its major contribution to winning WW2 producing millions of sub machine guns. He was also very fond of duck hunting and ordered at last one pair of Purdey sidelocks during his leadership period.
The Berlin Crisis of 1961 (4 June – 9 November 1961) was the last major politico-military European incident of the Cold War about the occupational status of the German capital city, Berlin, and of post–World War II Germany. The U.S.S.R. provoked the Berlin Crisis with an ultimatum demanding the withdrawal of Western armed forces from West Berlin—culminating with the city's de facto partition with the East German erection of the Berlin Wall.
Vyatskie Polyany Machine-Building Plant MOLOT" (The MOLOT factory) was founded in 1940 mainly for producing the Shpagin machine pistol PPSh guns, which was one of the major infantry weapons of the Soviet armed forces during World War II and with their short barrels and round magazines are very recognisable in the photos and films of Soviet soldiers capturing Berlin and defending Stalingard
In the 1950-60s the MOLOT factory was the only producer of the 9mm Stechkin automatic pistols APS, 7.62mm Kalashnikov light machine guns RPK and 30mm automatic grenade launchers Plamya AGS-17, which were highly recognized for their outstanding quality and reliability.
