RARE FINE GEORGIAN / VICTORIAN SHEFFIELD MADE GENTLEMAN'S FOLDING BLADE LOCK KNIFE RARE SHEFFIELD MAKER " THOMAS TURNER".
Overall nice original condition
An extremely similar knife is shown on page 136 / 137 of Ron Flooks excellent book "BRITISH AND COMMONWEALTH MILITARY KNIVES" "... the knife in the book was the property of a Colonel in the 17 th Lancers.
The age of the knife is given away by the main blade being a "Button Hook".! Also has two fine blades a corkscrew, a small blade which would say has been longer, and a main blade.
This is quite a fine item, the main blade measures about 5cm ,the button hook about 5.2 cm and all balades folded measures about 7.3 cm.
Chequered Ebony Grip with Silver? cartouche in the centre.
Has the maker stamp on three blades for example "Thomas Turner.. Sheffield" stamped on the main blade.Thomas Turner is one of the rare Sheffield makers ... listed as a knife manufacturer between 1802 to 1932 .
One of a small collection of fine vintage collectors folding knives we will be listing.
