WW2 U.S.A Victory Model, Smith & Wesson .38 Calibre Revolver With WW2 1941 U.S. Military Inspector’s Mark ‘WB’ (Waldemar Broberg). Sn 12385:28 - 12385:28This is a very good Victory model .38 Calibre Smith & Wesson Military Revolver. It has a 5" barrel, original wood grips and lanyard ring. The butt frame and one of the grips is stamped with numbers ‘9/15596’. The butt frame also has a small frankford Arsenal ignited grenade inspection mark and the United States Military Small Arms Inspectors Mark ‘W.B’. This inspectors mark belongs to inspector Waldemar Broberg. His mark is found on Smith & Wesson Victory Revolvers and Colt M1911A1 .45 Auto Pistols made in 1941. It is stamped along the barrel with the Smith & Wesson, manufacturer's name, 1914 patent details and on the right side of the frame with the 'S&W Trade mark logo and Patent' together with 'Made in the U.S.A'. The top of the frame is clearly stamped ' United States Property'. The pistol has a ringed cylinder & blocked barrel. The weapon strips, cocks and dry fires perfectly.
