This is an excellent, original example. It has a 1 1/2" broad 23 1/2" long, clean, heavy single edged blade and measures 29" overall. It has a rugged brass handle deeply grooved for grip with round pommel and the straight cross guard has the correct knuckle guard and cross guard with rolled end. The ricasso of the blade is marked by the German manufacturer Wester & Co Solingen. The Sword is complete with original Leather Scabbard with brass throat mount and chape with ball end. The throat mount has a belt bar fitted with leather tab. It is rare to find these weapons complete with scabbard and all leather & stitching of this scabbard are intact with just the light surface scuffs to the leather which is to be expected of an item of this age and service.
