~ Third Model Double Trigger Cased Revolver By Tranter Circa 1850 ~
This gun is a very fine example of its type in its original labelled case with a full complement of accessories, quite the best example I have owned.
It is marked with the serial number "1124OT" on the frame below the chamber.
There are several proof marks to the revolver, all English.
The gun is marked twice with the "Tranter patent" mark.
The revolver has its original blue finish and shows minimal signs of wear.
The checked wooden grips are original and unworn.
The revolver has a solid cocking action and lovely movement.
The revolver comes in its original Tranter beautiful dark oak case with plain brass escutcheon to the lid and the original interior and paper label.
The label reads...
"Alexr. Thomson & Son. Gun Rifle & Pistol Manufacturers. 16 Union Place Edinburgh. Established 1820"
The case contains...
Third Model Tranter
Pewter oil bottle
Tool for replacing the nipples.
"Tranter Pat" bullet mold

A tin of Tranter "Lubricating Bullets"
A tin of Tranter "Lubricating Composition"
A tin of T.E Mortimer (Edinburgh) caps.
