1790 Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol is a good example of its type. Tower Crown issue with good clear crisp markings. With original parts and original ramrod with brass end. This is a light, handy pistol with a good feel to it when aiming. The barrel is 9" long and .62 calibre. Overall length is 15 1/2". Mechanism is crisp with a strong spring.
This Elliot pattern of pistol specifically designed for the Light Dragoon Regiments of the British Army. Introduced in the 1760s, the Light Dragoon pistol graced of holsters of the dragoons of the 16th and 17th centry Light Dragoons along with American mounted units loyal to the crown. After the American Revolution, this pistol continued to be used by Light Dragoons into the Napoleonic Wars. It was slowly fazed out as the introduction of the New Land Pattern took hold.
