SOLD ### NEW LISTING ### 20/5/16 VERY NICE AND UNUSUAL VICTORIAN ERA POSSIBLY "EAST INDIA COMPANY" FORCES VICTORIAN CLASSIC MILITARY SIRUPATE KUKRI /HEAVIER MILITARY PATTERN SIRUPATE BLADE KUKRI WITH ORIGINAL CHAKMAKS COMPANION KNIVES,IN ITS ORIGINAL POLISHED "MILITARY"BROWN LEATHER SHEATH WITH A LOVELY AGE PATINA TO THE LEATHER.

Overall nice / very nice condition.

This has the look of a classic Victorian or possibly WW1 era issue military kukri . The kukri is obviously of some age with its typical issue military brown leather sheath and brass chape fastened with a large brass staple pin. Has an unusually heavier and thicker Sirupate ( Blade Of Grass) blade

The kukri has a nicely crafted and balanced blade, which measured in a straight line (not on the curve) is about 33 cm long.

Has the short smaller hilt length of the Victorian pattern of kukris about 10.5 cm, although somewhat thicker than the usual Victorian Military Kukris, possibly to compensate for the heavier blade. The hilt is also the typical military kukri pattern with full tang, steel bolster peaned over at the brass pommel and plain solid hardwood grip.
Must have frightened the wits out of Britains enemies!

Complete with unusually both original chakmaks
One tiny usage chips to the central wood raised hilt section, some odd small areas of rust staining to the blade, (otherwise a nice clean blade) and some rust staining to the chakmaks: some scuffing to the belt loop section at the top Otherwise the overall in nice / very nice condition with a lovely age patina to the polished brown leather sheath.

These classic Victorian Sirupate are a scarce item on the collectors market.

You must be at least 18 years of age to buy this item.
