~ Victorian 1821 Pattern Royal Marine Artillery General Officers Sword By Wilkinson ~
The blade is finely etched, on both sides of the blade with floral decoration.
The sword is embossed on one side with the manufacturers name ‘Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London’, the Royal Marine badge, Queen’s Victoria cipher and ‘Gibraltar’.
On the opposite side is the proofing star, the Queen’s coat of arms, the owner’s initials ‘GLR’ and the Royal Marine Artillery Badge.
The forte is numbered ‘36010’. This will place the manufacturing year around 1895.
The sword has the regulation pattern hilt.
The grip is of black fish skin bound in copper wire.
It comes with a general officer’s bullion knot in gold.

The blade has a length of 34.7 inches (88.4 cm). The sword has an overall length of 41.4 inches (105 cm). It weighs 1.1 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The blade is in good condition with some darkening, as expected for its age. The etchings remain mostly clear. The grip is sound, the blades edge nick free.
The basket retains most of its chrome.
The bullion knot has aged but its overall condition is good.
