    SOLD### NEW LISTING ### 28/6/16

VINTAGE BRITISH ARMY MK 5 GURKHA RIFLES KUKRI WITH ORIGINAL SHEATH AND FROG AND SMALL CHAKMAKS 1950'S - FALKLANDS WAR ERA

Overall used condition with a very clean blade.

Comes complete with its original sheath and belt frog, and pair chakmak companion knives.

This is a British Army MK 5 Gurkha Kukri that came with another Mk5 used kukri and a presenation kukri .....
(Please refer our other listing for the presentation kukri... other Mk Now Sold )
The Mk 5 Kukris were almost always a "Unit Purchase" from Nepal often without markings as on this kukri ( but if marked never showing a broad arrow, NATO stock number and so but either an abbreviated makers stamp and date such as "BG 81" or just a date stamp such as "81" )...

Nice clean blade about 27 cm long measured in a straight line.. not on the curve.

This appears to be a vintage kukri and another reason it is probably a vintage item is that it has a plain field use not the later pattern patent leather sheath and belt frog.that were covered with a cloth camo cover for field use.
There are two chakmaks a slightly thicker wood handle with a wider slightly shorter blade and a a slightly slimmer and longer version... both fit perfectly but would say are replacements which is not unusual, There is a thin usage crack to the lower section of the horn handle on one side but the whole hilt is rock solid. Odd slight surface rust on the small rivets on the back of the frog otherwise overall nice used condition with a very nice clean blade with grease ( wiped off for one photo ther re added and the the blade a nice tight firm fit in the sheath.

You must be at least 18 years of age to buy this item.
