A cased Webley Mark II Service Air Rifle in .25 calibre.
This is the rare “Rook and Rabbit Air Rifle” introduced in circa 1937 the serial number for this particular rifle is S10722 which the action and barrel both match.
The rifle is in good condition overall the blueing on the barrel action has worn to a smooth light grey patina which has probably been subject to some cold blueing in the past. The stock which features a pleasing grain has no cracks or splits it has marks from usage but nothing serious. The rifle cocks and fires with power the barrel release mechanism and interceptor sear all function correctly. It is complete with its correct rear aperture sight, centre and front sights all of which also function correctly. The two other barrels which complete the set are genuine Webley Mark II Service Air Rifle barrels and are in .22 and .177 calibre. The serial numbers do not match the action and are 4205 for the .22 barrel and 11273 for the .177 barrel both are in good condition but do have wear to the blueing. They both fit into the action with no issues.
The action and barrels are fitted into a very well made reproduction wood and canvas case which is excellent condition and included within is a genuine early post war ‘Webley’ oil can a ‘Weaman Street’ 500 x .22 calibre pellet tin a post war 1000 x .177 pellet tin and a post war 250 x .25 calibre packet of ‘Marksman’ pellets.
A very desirable combination based around the extremely rare .25 calibre rifle.
